Alfresco ECM, a cloud-based content management solution, which is on Gartner’s Magic Quadrant – is one of the leading Open Source ECM providers. Its impressive growth since 2005, coupled with their alliance with Kodak over the summer of 2012, just reinforces their profile and growth. Alfresco has tried to bridge the void between employees and IT, a space that some technologies push apart, by integrating Google Docs and some Lotus applications. It’s pliability with tablets and mobile devices – underpins its platform of growth within the modern era – however there are significant drawbacks as to its integration with ERP and CRM systems – and in my humble opinion potentially stumping its growth.
So, why are we talking about it? Put simply, it is a growing solution. We are seeing a rise in requirements and the buzz is increasing in the Alfresco realm. Organisations who we partner with are requesting more and more market information & candidate profiles from us – we are having to build networking arenas, dip into User Groups and specialise further in ECM to ensure we are reaching the right professional profiles at the right time. If we are not careful, we may very quickly have a candidate shortage.
